Chronic, longstanding pain can be extremely distressing and uncomfortable to say the least. It often requires specialist understanding and knowledge to effectively address and treat.

As pain persists, our bodies adapt accordingly, which can lead to further pain and disability despite the original physical injury/trauma has resolved. In more complicated cases, this can result in neurological sensitisation, fear avoidance behaviours, changes in movement patterns, mood changes (depression, anxiety), and affected sleep. These factors can result in a negative feedback loop that can lead to an increase in pain and decline in function.

Our specially trained team will work with you to treat and manage you pain as appropriate for you. We want to help return you to your activities and life with a plan to get you through.

Our pain management can be through normal clinic appointments (both ACC and private) and referrals from ACC for pain management contracts.
